Today I have completed two poems that I've been working on for weeks, one is about my mother. During the research I came across the website and a photo of the college she attended.. Cranwell in Lincolnshire, UK

your London home was bombed
your family left and you enlisted.
living underground for months
your face turned ghostly.

Woollen uniform a tie
official hat hair styled.
Wearing dark red lipstick speaking cockney,
you sent out orders for night bombing raids.

Leading Aircraft Women, the glamour girls.
C shift, midnight to 8am
no bed flopping in Nissan huts,
eating beans on toast- no choices.
