When we don't mow the front lawn, which we often don't, these beautiful lavender wildflowers grow all over.... so much prettier than grass. The word mow is very old, from 900, and can be used as a noun or a verb with two different pronunciations and meanings!
 Back then, they used a scythe to harvest, horses to pull a mowing device, and had much less air polution.
