Teaching Artist/Museum Educator at the University of Rochester's Memorial Art Gallery in Upstate NY.

As a picture book artist my work is created in gouache, acrylic and sometimes mixed media. I like to work in variety of materials to obtain different effects.

B.F.A. in Printmaking from Nova Scotia College of Art

I am fascinated by mythology, folktales, fairy-tales, and the magic that they contain. Many of my characters are created from these very old stories but with a new twist.

I completed an illustration of Little Red Riding-hood riding a black horse through the sky. With a panoramic view of the forest, her Granny's cottage, and of the wolf, she certainly has an advantage.

A riding hood was something worn when riding. It seemed fitting to have her riding a horse to Grandmother.

In magical stories like this one, horses can fly.
