My father taught me to draw when I was in the 1st grade. Right away I started drawing my family and all our pets. My sister has always been my best model. Early Saturday mornings I would sneak into her bedroom and draw her. That way she wouldn't move. Below is a ink wash I painted while she slept.
I draw mostly from my imagination now but often use reference too. Ideas are abundant and come to me from mediation, walking, writing, and listening to music.
I am a former teaching artist at the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester, NY, and a former substitute teacher in all subjects, pK-12th grades. I volunteered at the EquiCenter, a therapeutic equestrian program in Honeoye Falls, NY. Currently, I'm an Illustrator/Writer working digitally in Procreate.
